A Day in the Life Photography Session in Highland Park, Los Angeles
Why is starting always so difficult? I’ve had too many ideas for my first blog post – that I’d introduce myself a bit more fully, talk more about how my time in front of the camera has influenced my style and methods behind the camera, or maybe just a post full of gorgeous photographs of my last trip to Vermont, because despite my many years as an Angeleno, Vermont in summertime still has my heart. And I will write all of them and then some, eventually. But instead I want to jump in and share a day in the life session.
The Day
Chika, Pete and their beautiful son, fully accepted the idea of documentary photography and relaxed and were themselves in front of the camera in a way that was really a joy to behold. They let their toddler lead the way, playing, relaxing, and working in the garden. Their little one wasn’t made to sit still or put on fancy clothes, or put down his toys. There were cars, playing in the dirt, the hard and sometimes funny work of parenting and a lot of laughter. Here in photographs is the story of their afternoon, in this current home, in this season of their lives.
Are you thinking of setting up a documentary session for your family? Get in touch! I’d love to talk to you about it.
