Trucks and Toes

Jamie and Emily carried their son to the bed and the two dogs were only moments behind them. The little dogs immediately situated themselves between the humans and my camera and proceeded to make hilarious faces at me, like the two grumpy old men in The Muppet Show, which led to some of my favorite photographs from the shoot. What a lucky guy their son is, growing up in a house full of love and life.

We spent time inside and out, playing with toys, bare little toes on display, the little one receiving snuggles and kisses from his mommies, his dogs and occasionally even the cat.

And can we talk about the drool? I love it because it’s a little storytelling detail that’s specific to that particular moment in time. Any parent will remember those teething days when they couldn’t wipe the drool away fast enough, but I bet that even in the months since we shot this session, that has changed.
