The Beauty of at Home Maternity Sessions

Is there any anticipation more intense than the final weeks of waiting for a new child?

At home maternity sessions photographed in a documentary style are such a perfect way to honor and portray this rich time before a birth. You know the chaos is coming, but for now, we take a moment to capture and cherish what life looks like, before it all changes. I know you are so excited to meet this new person and all that they will bring, but it’s lovely to pause and take stock, whether you already have a house full of little ones, or if you’re welcoming your first child.

Like all of my in home sessions, I like to start with a documentary approach. I’ve had couples do all kinds of things during their sessions – make breakfast together, soak up the sun on their deck, put the nursery together, or play with their toddler, just to name a few.

PORTRAITS

We also always make portraits, and while these are more posed, or lightly directed, they still have an intimate, unfussy feel.
