A Family Grows in Atwater Village – Documentary Family Photos
Mary met me at the door with her baby in her arms. The little girl’s bright, inquisitive eyes were the first thing I noticed. I always go into a session with certain ideas of what is important to me to capture, but then also love discovering unique aspects of a family to record as well. As I followed the two of them into Mary’s light, lovely home and met her husband Jack and their older daughter, and saw her kind, brown eyes, I knew that I wanted to highlight their different personalities and relationship with each other. The older girl had such a sweet, doting manner with her baby sister. You can see it in her soft touches, and whispers and desire to be close by. The baby returned that affection with huge laughs and smiles at her sister’s antics.
For me, as always, it’s the in between moments that stole my heart. The little girl lost in thought on the step, family laughs on the bed, mama’s little touches – to her baby’s toes and her little girl’s hair, the baby snuggled in to the crook of dad’s arm, and her sparkling eyes and intense gaze.
Everything changes so quickly. Make sure you capture these moments and stories of your life right now for your own family. Get in touch!
