A Graduation Moment – Why I Love this Picture

I love this photograph for it’s juxtapositions and the story they tell. The school director’s hands hovering over the young students shoulders, the rubber band bracelet, clearly made by a child, next to her watch and other real jewelry, the private moment happening between the two of them despite all of us parents sitting in the audience watching. There was so much love and emotion at this nursery school graduation, such an awareness of change and a time in our lives ending, and I feel all of that when I look at this picture.
