Hal and his Dads

Sometimes a child charms you. You show up at just the right time and they are just delighted by you, the camera, the attention, and they shine. That’s what happened when I arrived at the apartment Hal lives in with his two dads.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the challenge of warming up a shy child, or catching a moment between a pair of siblings who never stop moving, but capturing the love between this little guy and his dads was just an all out joy.

At one point, they all sat together on the couch to read a book to Hal of the story of his adoption. Growing up knowing how much you were wanted and cherished from the beginning, how intentionally you became a family, is such a gift.
